Turkey: Besiktas releases statement on Mohamed Salah transfer

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

The Turkish club Besiktas has released a statement concerning the speculated transfer of Liverpool legend, Mohamed Salah.

The club distanced itself from speculation regarding a potential transfer, criticizing a journalist for propagating unfounded rumors and fabricating transfer news.

In a statement on their social media platforms, Besiktas accused journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu of misleading fans with false information.

They clarified that the club has no association with him, nor are any of his reports even remotely accurate.

They urged fans not to pay attention to any posts made by the Turkish journalist, emphasizing their commitment to transparency and stating that they would communicate via social media if they were engaged in discussions with any prominent players.

The club said, “The posts made by journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu on digital platforms regarding our club’s transfer activities and the alleged transfer conditions are purely products of imagination.

“The individual in question has been misleading the public for an extended period by spreading fabricated news that bears no relation to reality concerning our club’s transfer dealings.

“As previously stated, the most reliable and transparent information regarding our club’s transfer activities is communicated to our fans and the public through our official channels.

“We once again earnestly request the public, particularly our fans, to disregard any information or news that has not been disseminated through our official communication channels.”

Yağız Sabuncuoğlu is recognized as a leading Turkish journalist, boasting over two million followers on X (formerly Twitter). He was the first to report that Mohamed Salah had an agreement in place to join the Turkish club.
