World Cup: I follow him closely – Messi sends message to Lamine Yamal

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, has sent a message to Spain winger, Lamine Yamal ahead of both sides’ World Cup final on Sunday.

Messi wished Yamal all the best, describing him as a global icon.

Speaking with seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady in an interaction on Friday, the Inter Miami forward also said that he follows the Yamal closely because the 19-year-old plays for Barcelona.

“Yamal is one of the best in the world right now,” Messi said.

“Lamine is a fantastic player, whom I followed closely because he plays for a club I love and always wish the best for. He’s a global icon at just 19 years old.”

Messi could become the first footballer to win back-to-back World Cup trophies as team captain, while Yamal could become the second-youngest player to win the World Cup final as a starter.
