Turkey: Galatasaray give update on Victor Osimhen’s injury ahead of Kasımpaşa clash

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Galatasaray chief medical officer, Yener İnce, has provided an update on the injury status of Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen ahead of the club’s upcoming league fixture against Kasımpaşa, scheduled for Friday evening.

The Nigerian international sustained the injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium.

Following the injury, Osimhen has been sidelined for three consecutive matches across all competitions, including games against Kocaelispor, Trabzonspor and Sporting Lisbon.

The former Napoli forward delivered outstanding performances during the early stages of the season, recording six goals and two assists in four league matches.

In his assessment of the player’s condition, İnce indicated that Osimhen would undergo medical tests.

“We will conduct tests on all three players, on Osimhen, on Singo, and on Sallai as well. We will make a decision based on the test results,” İnce told Winner Galatasaray.

“But the treatment of all three is going very well. In other words, all three are in a much better condition now compared to one week to 10 days ago. In other words, thank goodness, there is nothing going wrong with the treatments,” he concluded.

The Nigerian player did not feature in the Super Eagles’ international matches against Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau and Russia during the international break.

Regardless, Osimhen has resumed training as he progresses through his rehabilitation.
