Two Argentina players blocked from Messi’s farewell match

Roma have confirmed that they will not grant Paulo Dybala and Nahuel Molina permission to travel to Argentina for Lionel Messi’s farewell match.

The game, which will be against Benin Republic, has been scheduled for October 6.

The Serie A club cited long travel and logistical concerns for its refusal to release Dybala and Molina.

Both players will instead begin team training ahead of their league fixture against Como on October 11.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano wrote on X: “AS Roma state they will not let Dybala and Molina travel to Argentina for Leo Messi’s farewell game on October 6.

“No intention to allow an international, long travel due to logistics, with Dybala and Molina to be in team training next week.”
