Governor of Kaduna State and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State Governorship Election, Uba Sani, has congratulated Biodun Oyebanji on his victory in the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election held on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Sani described Oyebanji’s re-election as a resounding endorsement of his administration’s performance, inclusive leadership style, and commitment to the development of Ekiti State.

“On behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State Governorship Election, I extend my warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his emphatic and well-deserved victory in the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election, having secured a decisive 319,224 votes to earn a renewed mandate from the good people of Ekiti State,” he said.

According to the APC campaign council chairman, Oyebanji secured a renewed mandate after polling 319,224 votes in the election, a result he said reflected the confidence of Ekiti residents in continuity and progressive governance.

“This remarkable and resounding victory stands as a powerful affirmation of his performance in office, his inclusive style of leadership, and his steadfast commitment to the progress, stability, and development of Ekiti State,” Sani said.

He also commended the people of Ekiti State for what he described as a wise and forward-looking decision, noting that the electorate had once again demonstrated faith in a leadership philosophy centred on citizens’ welfare and shared prosperity.

Sani further linked the outcome to the support being provided to subnational governments by President Bola Tinubu, stating that the President’s reforms and strategic interventions had created an enabling environment for governors to deliver development and democratic dividends to their people.

The Kaduna governor also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, election observers, the media, and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process.

He said their professionalism and dedication had strengthened public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic institutions and reinforced the integrity of the electoral system.

Calling for unity after the election, Sani urged opposition parties and candidates to embrace the spirit of statesmanship and work with the governor-elect in the interest of the state’s continued growth and development.

“Democracy flourishes best when elections are viewed not as an end in themselves but as opportunities for collective advancement and shared progress,” he stated.

Sani also expressed appreciation to members of the APC National Campaign Council, fellow governors, National Assembly members, and party stakeholders for their support and contributions to the party’s victory in the election.

He wished Governor Oyebanji and the people of Ekiti State greater peace, prosperity, and progress in the years ahead.
