UCL: ‘I don’t care’ – Luis Enrique slams critics of PSG’s 5-4 win over Bayern

Daily Post 10 days 2 mins read

Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique, has criticized those who disapproved of their 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

He asserted that not every opinion warrants respect when the majority holds a different view.

In a media briefing prior to the Ligue 1 match against FC Lorient, Enrique expressed his dissatisfaction with analysts’ remarks regarding the defense in the first leg of the semifinal.

He said, “You shouldn’t respect all opinions… because if it’s a poor opinion, it doesn’t deserve respect. There are individuals who appreciate playing football in this manner, which is the majority, and I count myself among them, alongside those who prefer a different style.

“I disregard those opinions. What we demonstrate is that most football enthusiasts found it enjoyable, and that is what truly matters,” via Fabrizio Romano on X.

These remarks follow Wayne Rooney’s assertion that defenders and goalkeepers would be dissatisfied with the scoreline, stating:

“I don’t understand how, as a player or a coach, regardless of winning the game, you can be content after conceding four or five goals. I believe there are questions that need to be addressed.”

PSG is set to face Bayern Munich in the second leg next week.
