UCL: Sporting manager, Borges speaks on player to replace Osimhen in Galatasaray squad

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Sporting manager, Rui Borges, has insisted that Barış Alper Yılmaz can replace injured Victor Osimhen in the Galatasaray squad ahead of both sides’ UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday.

Osimhen is currently injured after he sustained a groin injury during Galatasaray’s last Turkish Super Lig clash against Istanbul Basaksehir on Friday.

The Nigerian international will miss the Sporting Lisbon clash in Portugal.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Borges believes Yılmaz can play in Osimhen’s role for Galatasaray.

“Frankly, Osimhen is a different player and creates extraordinary things on the field,” Borges was quoted by Le Marca Sports as saying.

“However, in the end, they will field 11 players, and another player will take on that role there.

“There is Yılmaz, who can play in that position; Rafael can play on the wing, but all of these are just assumptions.”
