Ukraine’s military has struck an oil refinery and logistics centre in Russia’s Ryazan region as part of a series of long-range attacks targeting facilities it says are supporting Moscow’s war effort.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky disclosed the development in a post on X, stating that the Ryazan facility, located about 360 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, was successfully hit.
According to Zelensky, Ukrainian forces also struck a base used by the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s high-speed boats in Russian-occupied Crimea.
He added that other long-range attacks targeted an oil refinery in Russia’s Perm region, as well as an export terminal and a military enterprise in the Rostov region.
Zelensky commended Ukrainian forces for carrying out the strikes with precision and praised those involved in enabling the long-range operations.
He said the attacks were intended to increase the cost of the war for Russia and maintain pressure on Moscow in an effort to bring the conflict to an end.
