As Nigeria prepares to mark its 66th Independence anniversary, the African Continental Chapter of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council, UNIPGC AFRICA, has announced plans to host an intensive capacity building masterclass for social media and content creators across the country.
The 2026 Social media & Content Creator Capacity Building Masterclass is being organised in collaboration with JodelaTV and EduCore Impact Organization. It will be held live in Lagos as part of activities lined up for Nigeria at 66 Peace and Governance Conference/Awards.
According to the organisers, the workshop is designed to radically elevate the skills, professionalism, and income potential of digital content creators, and to position Nigerian talent to compete effectively in the global digital economy.
The Global President and Chairman of the UNIPGC Supreme Council, His Excellency, Ambassador Jonathan Ojadah, said in a statement that the initiative was borne out of the need to bridge the gap between creativity and structure in Nigeria’s fast-growing creative sector.
“The Nigerian creative industry is overflowing with talent, but talent alone is no longer enough to compete globally,” Ambassador Ojadah said. “This masterclass bridges the gap between raw creativity and structural competence.”
He added that the programme will equip participants with the technical optimization and narrative power required to build sustainable, influential digital enterprises from Nigeria, while also aligning with global standards of digital governance and storytelling.
The masterclass will take place during the Nigeria at 66 Peace and Governance Conference / Awards, a high-level dialogue focused on strengthening democratic governance, investment promotion and peace building systems in the country. The theme for this year’s commemoration is: From Conflict to Consolidation: Strengthening Democracy & Traditional Institutions through Solidarity.
Organisers said the training will cover key areas including content strategy, platform algorithm mastery, monetization, brand partnerships, digital storytelling for impact, and professional ethics for content creators and digital journalists.
Applications are now officially open to eligible participants. To qualify, applicants must be active content creators, digital journalists, bloggers, podcasters, or video editors based in Nigeria, with a verifiable online platform or portfolio of at least six months of active content.
