UNL: Brazil legend, Marcelo reacts as Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Portugal national team camp

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Former Real Madrid player, Marcelo has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Portugal national team camp during the ongoing UEFA Nations League games.

The 41-year-old surprisingly departed from the national team’s training facility in Copenhagen following a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus earlier this week.

Marcelo shared a photograph of himself and Cristiano Ronaldo from their time at Real Madrid on Instagram, accompanied by a caption designed to demonstrate his continued support for the Portugal icon during this challenging period.

“What can I say… @Cristiano,” he wrote.

Marcelo and Ronaldo’s professional relationship began at Real Madrid, where Marcelo joined the club two years before the arrival of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Their years together proved exceptionally successful, establishing a formidable on-field partnership while achieving unprecedented European dominance.

The former left-back served as club captain before his departure in 2022, four years after Ronaldo’s exit from Real Madrid.

Throughout their partnership, they secured numerous accolades, notably consecutive UEFA Champions League titles from 2016 to 2018.
