US vs Iran: Trump cancels Witkoff, Kushner’s trip to Islamabad for peace talks

Daily Post about 10 hours ago 1 mins read

United States President Donald Trump has canceled the trip by his special envoy, Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner to Islamabad for another round of peace talks.

In a post on his Truth Social on Saturday, Trump attributed to cancelation to Iran’s posture during the negotiations.

“Too much time wasted on traveling, too much work! Besides which, there is tremendous infighting and confusion within their ‘leadership.’ Nobody knows who is in charge, including them. Also, we have all the cards, they have none!” He said.

According to him, with the Iranian Foreign Minister having left Pakistan ahead of Witkoff and Kushner’s arrival, if Iran wants to negotiate, all they have to do is call.

Recall that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday said that it was the Iranians who requested these rounds of negotiations despite claims from the regime that they had no plans to speak trilaterally.

DAILY POST reports that the Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation flew out of Islamabad Saturday following their talks with Pakistani leaders.
