Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has commended security agencies for their swift intervention in securing the release of 20 corps members kidnapped along the Onitsha-Owerri Road.

Uzodimma praised the agencies for their collaboration and patriotism, saying their coordinated efforts ensured the safe release of the victims.

The 20 prospective corps members and one other abducted along the Owerri-Onitsha Road in Imo State regained their freedom on Wednesday.

In a statement he personally signed, the governor also commended the Imo and Oyo State Governments for working together to secure the release of the corps members.

He explained that because the incident involved the safety of human lives, the authorities deliberately limited information in the public domain while efforts were underway to free the victims.

Uzodimma said he was particularly grateful to the security agencies for handling the situation discreetly and collaboratively.

The governor also praised the parents of the abducted corps members for their patience during the ordeal.

He urged Nigerians to continue to have faith in the Federal Government as it works to address the country’s security challenges.
