Watchdog Uganda about 1 hour 2 mins read

KAMPALA — Victoria University is set to expand its presence in Kampala with the construction of a new campus in Naguru, with work expected to begin this year.

The university’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Lawrence Muganga, has shared design impressions of the planned facility, describing the project as an exciting development for the institution and its students.

The new campus will be located in Naguru, near Phaneroo, in one of Kampala’s rapidly developing areas.

Sharing the architectural impressions, Dr. Muganga said the designs may initially appear to be AI-generated because of their modern appearance, but confirmed that they represent the actual plans for the university’s upcoming home.

“At first glance, you might think someone got a little too creative with AI. But no, these are the actual design impressions of the upcoming Victoria University Kampala, Uganda, campus in the heart of Kampala, Naguru to be exact, close to Phaneroo,” Dr. Muganga said.

He said construction is expected to commence this year, expressing excitement about seeing the architectural designs transformed into a functional university campus.

“Yes, this is happening, and I am excited to share that work begins this year,” he said.

Dr. Muganga added that the university community is looking forward to seeing the project completed and providing students and staff with a new environment for learning and interaction.

“We cannot wait to see these images become something you can actually walk into, experience, and call home. This one is going to be beautiful,” he said.

Victoria University, which is based in Kampala, has positioned itself around innovation, practical learning and digitally enabled education.
