Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Saturday, expressed delight over the rescue of the Oriire school pupils and teachers just as he promised to honour the civilians and military personnel who lost their lives in the process.

Governor Makinde, who took to X (Twitter) handle, said his administration would provide the necessary support needed for the victims’ full recovery and ensure their reunited with their families.
Governor Makinde said: “Earlier today, we visited the victims of the Oriire LGA kidnapping incident where they are receiving treatment in Ibadan.
“We will continue to provide the necessary support needed for their full recovery and reunite them with their families.
“We also remember civilians and military personnel who lost their lives during this process, our administration will ensure that they did not die in vain.
“May their souls rest in peace and may God continue to comfort their families.”
