Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern warning to property owners against developing lands without legal documents, stating that the Abuja Master Plan must be protected.
Wike spoke on Tuesday at the official flag-off of the two service carriageways of the Southern Parkway in Gaduwa District, Abuja.
The minister vowed that all illegal properties along the project corridor would be removed.
He directed officials of the Development Control Department and Lands Department to urgently identify and remove all structures illegally erected on lands.
“Any illegal structure along the corridor will be removed. We must protect the integrity of the Abuja Master Plan,” he warned.
He accused some of the developers of forging documents and encroaching on land belonging to the government, stating that their plots will not work.
“Those who have forged documents and encroached on government land should know that it will not work,” Wike added.
