The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to focus more on addressing Nigeria’s economic and security challenges rather than engaging in political battles with his opponents.
The party’s National Leader of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Dr Chike Okogwu, made the call in a statement issued on Saturday while reacting to the President’s recent comments on political competition.
“What Nigerians want is action on inflation, insecurity, unemployment and the rising cost of living, not political rivalry,” Okogwu said.
He urged the Federal Government to make improving the lives of Nigerians its top priority by addressing the issues affecting families and businesses across the country.
The ADC chieftain also drew attention to the challenges faced by Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
According to him, many still struggle to access healthcare, education, transportation, employment and other essential public services.
He called on governments at all levels to fully implement the Disability Act and introduce policies that promote equal opportunities and inclusion for persons with disabilities.
According to him, the ADC supports policies that promote accessible public infrastructure, quality education, improved healthcare, employment opportunities and greater participation of persons with disabilities in governance.
He added that public office holders would ultimately be judged by how much they improve the lives of citizens rather than by political victories.
