Anyone searching for Erling Haaland on Google is now greeted with a special surprise as the search engine celebrates the Norway striker’s outstanding performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 25-year-old has been one of the tournament’s standout players, spearheading Norway’s historic run to the quarterfinals with seven goals in just four appearances.

Norway will face England on July 11 for a place in the semifinals, with Haaland hoping to continue his remarkable scoring streak.

As his popularity has soared during the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, Google has introduced a unique easter egg for users searching his name.

The animation appears at the bottom of the search results page, showing seven Vikings sitting in a row and performing the rowing celebration that has become synonymous with Norway’s World Cup campaign.

The celebration has also caught on among fans, with supporters inside stadiums recreating the rowing motion while repeatedly chanting “Hu.”

The chant is widely believed to be inspired by the rowing of Viking longships, paying tribute to Norway’s Viking heritage and maritime history.

Haaland himself encouraged fans to discover the feature, posting on social media: “One thing to do today… search my name on Google.”
