The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the conclusion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh.
According to him, the promotion exercise has been successfully completed.
” The promotion examinations for senior officers were held between July 1 and July 3, while junior staff wrote theirs on July 10,” he said.
Ezeh also disclosed that Wike had directed the commission to begin the 2026 promotion exercise immediately to ensure that eligible workers are promoted without unnecessary delays.
“Under this administration, it is a priority that FCT workers get promoted as and when due. This is to complement the tremendous work that the FCT Minister is doing in infrastructural development of the Territory, and for us, the workers will not be left out in the celebrations marking the third anniversary of Mr President,” he said.
He said the decision was aimed at ensuring civil servants benefit alongside the ongoing development projects in the Federal Capital Territory.
The commission chairman commended FCT workers for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the 2025 promotion exercise and urged those expected to participate in the 2026 exercise to maintain the same level of discipline and professionalism.
