A woman has lost her life after a man who took her to a hotel room in Girei, an urban community near the Adamawa State capital, Yola, allegedly killed her.
The woman, who has yet to be fully identified, was reportedly beheaded by the man. Sources said he had taken her to the hotel in Girei, where they were later heard arguing loudly.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, after which the suspect was apprehended by members of the public. The police were called to take over the case, while the victim’s body was removed from the hotel.
According to a source familiar with the incident, people heard the sound of a fight coming from the room where the suspect had lodged. They forced their way into the room, found the woman lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut to her neck, and apprehended the suspect.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, who was contacted shortly before this report was filed at about 7:30 pm on Friday, confirmed the incident.
