Chelsea star, João Pedro, has expressed his feelings following the announcement that he will not be included in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Brazil’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, unveiled his roster for the tournament on Monday, omitting the Chelsea forward, which surprised many Brazilian supporters.
Despite Chelsea’s challenging season, Pedro was among the club’s standout players and had hoped to secure a place in the World Cup squad.
However, Ancelotti informed him to anticipate future World Cup.
In response to this decision, he stated, as reported by Fabricio Romano, “I endeavored to perform at my best consistently. Regrettably, I could not realize my dream of representing my nation in a World Cup, but I remain composed and focused, as I always strive to be.
“Joy and frustration are integral to football. Moving forward, I wish the best of luck to all those participating, and I will be just another supporter cheering for them to bring home the sixth title.”
Carlo Ancelotti commented on Pedro, saying, “I feel sorrow for players who have been excluded, such as João Pedro.
“They will have opportunities in the future.”
