World Cup 2026: Lukaku creates history after Belgium thrash USA

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Belgium striker, Romelu Lukaku, has created history after his side’s 4-1 win against the USA in the World Cup Round of 16 clash earlier today.

Lukaku came on as a substitute and scored against the World Cup co-host nation to become the first player to score as a substitute in four FIFA World Cup matches.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United attacker came on as a substitute in the 67th minute and scored in the 93rd minute, helping Belgium secure a spot in the last-8.

He scored against Senegal in the Round of 16 match, against New Zealand and Egypt at the group stage.

Lukaku will now hope to lead Belgium to victory when they face Spain in the quarter-final stage in the coming days.
