Daily Post about 4 hours 1 mins read

France captain, Kylian Mbappe, made history after his side’s World Cup 1-0 win against Paraguay in the Round of 16 on Saturday.

The Real Madrid forward scored from a penalty as France progressed to the quarter-final stage.

Mbappe’s goal against Paraguay was his 55th goal in total for the national team and La Liga in the 2025-26 season.

The former Paris Saint-Germain thus surpassed his previous record of 54 goals set in the 2022-23 season, becoming the French player with the most goals in a single season with 55 goals, according to Stats Foot.

The 27-year-old will now hope to lead France to victory when they face Morocco in the quarter-final on Thursday.
