World Cup 2026: Morocco make history after thrashing Canada

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Morocco on Saturday made history after thrashing Canada 3-0 in the World Cup Round of 16 encounter at the Houston Stadium.

A brace from Azzedine Ounahi and a goal from Soufiane Rahimi gave the Atlas Lions the win against the co-host nation.

The win against Canada means Morocco becomes the first African team to score three goals in a FIFA World Cup knockout match.

Morocco will now face France in the quarter-final.

They are yet to lose a match at the World Cup so far after they finished in second position behind Brazil with seven points during the group stage.

Morocco went on to beat the Netherlands in the Round of 32 via penalty shoot-out, before beating Canada in the last-16.
