“You Embarrassed Us On Global Stage” — Hausa Praise Singer Rarara, Tackles Davido

Hausa praise singer Rarara has criticized Davido for displaying the names of abd¥cted Oyo schoolchildren and teachers during the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert.

Reacting in a video, Rarara described the move as “barbaric,” asking, “How can you promote Ansaru te+rorists or insecurity-related issues to the whole world? How can you take a sensitive national security issue and project it to the world in a way that could damage the country’s image?”

He questioned Davido’s motive, alleging that the singer was turning insecurity into a political issue because of his family’s political interests. According to him, “Anyone who campaigns with insecurity is insane because he does not fully understand what it entails.”

Rarara further claimed the abduction occurred after the arrest of some terrorists and said security agencies had already vowed to rescue the victims. He argued that “it was during this delicate period that Davido chose to embarrass us on a global stage.”

The singer also warned content creators against promoting insecurity narratives for politics or engagement, insisting that such actions could damage Nigeria’s image and, in his view, end up helping te+rorists.
