Zamfara: NDC condemns fresh bandits’ attack in Bindin

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The National Democratic Congress, NDC, Zamfara State chapter, has condemned the recent bandits’ attack on Bindin community in Maru Local Government Area of the state.

The party also called on the international community to take note of what it described as the deteriorating security situation in Zamfara.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the NDC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State, Kassim Almustafa Kayatawa, said the party was concerned about the killing of civilians and security personnel during the attack.

The party criticised the absence of Governor Dauda Lawal during the aftermath of the attack, saying he was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as part of a Federal Government delegation for a leadership exchange on nutrition policy.

The NDC described the governor’s absence as insensitive and accused him of failing to meet the expectations of residents affected by insecurity.

It also criticised the Federal Government for approving the governor’s participation in the delegation while Zamfara communities continued to face attacks.

The party urged the state and Federal Governments to take stronger measures to protect residents and security personnel from further attacks.
