2027: Tinubu prepared for antics of opposition parties – Wike

Daily Post about 2 hours 3 mins read

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday said opposition should not wake up “one morning” and expect to produce Nigeria’s president in 2027.

Wike noted that producing Nigeria’s president is not by taking too much and making much noise.

He made the comments during the commissioning of water supply network to Bwari Satellite town of the FCT as part of projects to celebrate President Bola Tinubu’s third year anniversary in office as Nigeria’s president.

Wike noted that Tinubu and his followers are prepared for the antics of the opposition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He said: “I have told people who say that they want to be in power, you have heard it, it’s not ‘chochocho.’ To be president is not chochocho, you don’t wake up early in the morning and say that you want to be president, no it doesn’t happen that way.

“So we are prepared, the president is prepared, and everybody who has what it takes,” Wike said.

The minister informed that Tuesday’s event marked the 50th project commissioning across the FCT since Tinubu assumed office as president.

He said: “today is the 25th day of commissioning of projects to mark the third year anniversary of Mr President and it’s important for us to do this by letting people know, those that say they don’t have eyes let them know that something is happening in the Federal Capital Territory.

“Your Excellency, sometimes last year during the second anniversary of Mr President when he commissioned the Abuja City Water project, Mr president mandated that it must be taken to the satellite towns and we promised that by 2026, we will also give to AMAC, satellite town in AMAC and Bwari.

“It may interest you to note that by the grace of God only last week the Vice President represented Mr President in commissioning the satellite town water supply in Karu and other communities along those areas and today we are here for the one in Bwari Area Council.

“Since the assumption of Mr President in office in 2023, we have been able to provide water for the centre, provide water for the satellite towns in Karu, Bwari and other communities. This is to let people know that we are not only concentrating on roads but we are also making sure that other sectors are being touched and that’s why we are here.

“Since Mr President came on board, virtually all the roads in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council have been completed and by the grace of God before the end of this year, we will also commission the 17 kilometer road from Bwari to Kubwa and I’m sure you can see the turn out of people, that is to say how happy they are.

“Let me also put on notice that since the assumption of Mr President in May 29, 2023; today is the 50th official commissioning of projects, I’m not talking about the unofficial ones and before January next year, we will commission another 10 projects before we go for campaigns.”
