Several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State sustained serious injuries on Saturday when a bus conveying them to the party’s rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.

The accident reportedly occurred in Lafia, a few kilometres from the rally venue.

The number of injured delegates had yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, but they were reportedly evacuated to hospitals in Lafia for medical attention.

The incident was confirmed by Dan-Morgan Ihomun, Publicity Secretary of the Austin Agada faction of the APC in Benue State, who said no life was lost.

“The accident happened in Lafia and it involved two vehicles. But there was no loss of life. Those who sustained injuries have been rushed to the hospital,” Ihomun said.

The latest incident comes months after a similar accident involving APC delegates from Benue State travelling to Lafia for a party event.

On March 25, 2026, three delegates from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State died, while about 10 others sustained injuries when a bus conveying them from Makurdi to Lafia was involved in an accident en route to the APC North-Central Zonal Congress.
