The 2027 Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC Atiku Abubakar has countered claims in some quarters linking the alleged fake agency, the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, PFIPC to former President Muhammadu Buhari
DAILY POST reports that the alleged discovery of PFIPC as a fake agency had sparked national debate as top government officials were linked to the operation of the agency.
Concerned Nigerians had called for an independent investigation to unravel how the agency was established and funded for two years under Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director General.
However, claims by some All Progressives Congress, APC stalwarts and supporters of the President Bola Tinubu administration said the agency was established under Buhari.
But in a statement by his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku said “what Buhari created in September 2019 was the Presidential Economic Advisory Council, PEAC, which was chaired by renownedeconomist, Dr Doyin Salami.
According to the statement posted on his X handle, Ibe alleged that PFIPC was only a “manifestation of Tinubu’s “tiwa tiwa” government”.
He wrote, “No matter how they try to spin it, the existence of the PFIPC, and how it “outsmarted” senior officials of government, SGF, CoS, the Ministry of Finance regulatory agencies, CBN, the NASS under leadership of Akpabio and Abbas, anti-corruption agencies, EFCC and security agencies, Nigeria Police, DSS is a confirmation of how incompetent and clueless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is.
“They should stop wasting our time and resources looking for scapegoats.
“The buck stops on the table of #Emilokan. It is not only his turn to “grab, snatch, and run” with power, it is also high time he shows accountability and lives up to his response, according to his oath of office”.
