Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Suspected armed Fulani bandits have killed two persons and injured three others during an attack on a burial gathering in Angwar Magaji village, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This was disclosed in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region.

Makama, citing security sources, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday when the assailants reportedly stormed the community and opened fire on mourners attending a burial ceremony.

Troops deployed under Operation Enduring Peace were said to have responded to a distress call and rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the troops discovered that two residents had been killed, while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack.

The wounded victims were evacuated to the Primary Health Care Centre in Barkin Kogi for medical treatment.

Military authorities said efforts were ongoing to track down and apprehend the attackers.
