BBNaija: ‘My emotions took best of me’ — Keivo apologises after disqualification

By Adegboyega Adeleye

Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) ‘Show Ya Sef’ housemate, Victor Ikpe, popularly known as Keivo, has spoken for the first time since his disqualification from the reality show, saying he takes full responsibility for his actions.

Keivo was disqualified by Big Brother after a physical altercation with fellow housemate, Tram, during the final week of the competition.

In a lengthy post on X, Keivo thanked God, Big Brother, MultiChoice, his family, friends and supporters for their support throughout his time on the show.

“I give utmost appreciation and glory to God Almighty. Through everything, he remained faithful,” he wrote.

“I sincerely thank Big Brother and Multichoice for the incredible opportunity to be part of this experience.

“Being in the house, sharing my story, connecting with amazing people and showing myself, I will never take that for granted.

“To my family, friends and supporters who worked tirelessly, prayed, voted, and stood by me with the hope of seeing me become a finalist, thank you.

“You believed in me and invested your time, resources, emotions, and love in my journey. I appreciate you more than words can ever express.”

Addressing the incident that led to his disqualification, Keivo said he had reflected on what happened and accepted responsibility.

“I’ve had some time to reflect on everything that happened and I take full responsibility for my actions. My emotions took the best of me. Regardless of how strongly I felt, physical confrontation is never a solution to any situation,” he wrote.

He added: “I will learn, become better, and do my very best to make you proud of Keivo the Challenger, the Competitor, the man of many talents, the son of Grace, the VICTOR.”

Reflecting on his time in the house, Keivo said he entered the show hoping Nigerians would get to know him and left knowing they did.

“I came into Big Brother’s house hoping Nigerians would see who I am. I leave knowing that millions of people did. Thank you for loving me at my best, and thank you for holding me accountable for my actions,” he wrote.

“I ask God for mercy, wisdom, grace, and strength as I move forward. I trust that he has a purpose for every chapter, including this one. I will continue to trust him.

“To every member of this family, new and old, I appreciate you. I love you, and I will do my best to make you proud. So help me God!”
