Commercial motorcyclists, residents clash in Ojo, Ibadan

There is a reported clash between Hausa’s and Yoruba’s in Ibadan, following a disagreement between motorcyclists and residents on Tuesday.

Sources say there is panic among residents of Ojoo, Moniya and Sasa, where the clash has reportedly heated up.

DAILY POST gathered that a commercial motorcyclist reported to be a Yoruba man, disagreed with an Hausa man, leading to the death of the unamed Yoruba man. However, 24 hours later, relatives of the Yoruba man decided to avenge his death, causing a breach of peace in the area. 

A resident said, “There is an ongoing clash between Hausa and Yoruba in Ojo presently.

“It was learned that Hausa killed a Yoruba person yesterday night and Yoruba is retaliating now. We should mind our movement around Ojo now.” 

DAILY POST gathered that men of operation burst, a joint security outfit in the state are currently stationed in the area. 

Efforts to get a reaction from the Public Relations Officer of the State Police command, Olayinka Ayanlade was not successful at the time of filing this report on Wednesday.
