Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

To safeguard lives and property, prevent criminal activities, and promote a secure environment for residents, the leadership of Sardauna Local Government Council of Taraba State has announced the commencement of a joint night security patrol across Gembu Metropolis.

The council said the decision is part of renewed efforts to strengthen public safety and maintain law and order.

The directive, approved by the Executive Chairman of the council, M. J. Umar, was conveyed in an official statement signed on Monday by the Director of Administration and General Services, Eric Mathew Vakude.

According to the statement, the security operation takes effect from Monday, July 6, 2026, and will be conducted daily between 9 pm and 5 am.

A joint team of security operatives has been deployed to patrol the metropolis and ensure strict compliance with the directive.

The local government warned that anyone found moving within Gembu Metropolis during the restricted hours would be arrested by security personnel on patrol.

Residents were also advised to remain indoors throughout the patrol period and to cooperate fully with security agencies in the interest of peace and public safety.

“The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property, prevent criminal activities, and promote a secure environment for residents of Gembu Metropolis,” the statement read.
