DSS rescues four kidnapped Kaura-Namoda Polytechnic students

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), in collaboration with other security agencies in Zamfara State, have rescued four remaining students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, who were kidnapped in June.

The rescued students were reportedly released unhurt, with no ransom paid.

The students, comprising three males and three females, were abducted on June 3, 2026, from their off-campus residence in the Low-cost area of Kaura Namoda town when armed bandits attacked the building and took six persons away.

Following the earlier release of two of the students, security operatives launched an intelligence-led operation to secure the freedom of the remaining victims.

The operation reportedly led to the safe rescue of the four students, bringing relief to the institution and their families.

However, when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said he was not aware of the reported rescue of the students. The police spokesman did not provide further details on the development.
