Gunmen shoot one, abduct two in Ogun

Armed men suspected to be kidnappers on Thursday, shot one Al-haqq Shobakin in the chest and abducted two other residents in Kobape area of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident happened at about 7 p.m.

Shobakin had gone to open the gate for one Olayinka Obadimu, who was going out. They were attacked by the kidnappers at the gate.

Obadimu on sighting the kidnappers drove off with speed while they were shooting and Shobakin was shot in the process.

The kidnappers then proceeded into the house were they abducted Kelvin Moyegun and Kehinde Rufai.

DAILY POST learnt that Shobakin is currently in the ICU receiving medical care at a private hospital in Abeokuta.

Confirming the incident on Friday, the Police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said operatives of the command had already been deployed to rescue the victims and arrest the hoodlums.

He said, “I can confirm that there was an abduction, and one person is currently in the hospital receiving medical care. 

“The command has deployed its operatives to rescue those who were abducted and also arrest the perpetrators.”
