Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Hoodlums has allegedly attacked a Nigerian Army officer and his wife after blocking their vehicle and dispossessing them of N300,000 in the Itire area of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclosed this during a press briefing on the notable operational successes recorded by the Command in October 2026.

According to the police, the incident occurred on October 4 when the hoodlums allegedly blocked the officer’s vehicle, assaulted him and his wife, collected N300,000 from them and vandalised the vehicle.

Following the incident, police operatives arrested Muhammad Garuba Alabi, who was identified as an alleged gang leader, in connection with the attack.

The police said Alabi had reportedly confessed to the offence, while efforts were ongoing to arrest other members of the gang who fled the scene.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
