Troops kill one terrorist, capture another in Yobe

Troops of 159 Battalion, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have neutralised one suspected terrorist and captured another during a fighting patrol in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The troops engaged the suspected terrorists on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Abakuradi village in Geidam LGA.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, in a post on X on Wednesday, said the troops neutralised one terrorist during the encounter, while another was captured alive.

He added that the troops also recovered an AK-47 rifle from the suspected terrorists.

According to Makama, the captured suspect is currently in military custody for further interrogation and necessary action upon completion of the investigation.
