Hypertension: Cut salt, stay active, check your blood pressure

High blood pressure is often called a silent killer because many people do not notice symptoms until complications develop.

To stay healthy, reduce salt intake by avoiding excessive processed foods, seasoning cubes, and salty snacks.

Engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity such as brisk walking, dancing, or cycling most days of the week.

Regular blood pressure checks are also essential, especially for adults above 30 years.

Maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol intake, avoiding smoking, and managing stress can significantly reduce the risk of stroke, heart disease, kidney failure, and sudden death linked to uncontrolled hypertension.
