Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies and improving the welfare of troops deployed across the state to tackle insecurity.
Lawal gave the assurance on Thursday while presiding over the weekly State Security Council meeting at the Government House in Gusau.
A statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said the meeting was attended by heads of security agencies operating in the state and focused on strategies to strengthen security presence in volatile areas.
According to the statement, the governor assured security chiefs of his readiness to provide the necessary support to enhance the effectiveness and well-being of personnel engaged in security operations.
“Governor Dauda Lawal chaired the weekly security council meeting with renewed commitment to strengthening support for the troops.
“He assured the heads of the security agencies of his readiness to take all necessary measures to ensure the well-being of troops operating in the state,” the statement said.
The meeting also discussed measures to strengthen troop deployment and improve rapid response to security emergencies across the state.
Lawal emphasised that ensuring the safety and security of Zamfara residents remains a top priority of his administration.
He also assured security agencies that his office would remain accessible for collaboration and support aimed at addressing the security challenges facing the state.
