Lift up your faith, by Funmi Komolafe

Brethren, we need to thank God that has kept you and I alive  to progress in the month of October.

By His Grace, we shall end this year joyfully in Jesus name.

At every point in time either we are rejoicing or sorrowful because we have lost a loved one, we should   bear in mind that the breath of life that we have is not by our power but a gift of the Most High God.

This.  should therefore  remind us that no  human being can create another.

As we gradually move towards the end of the year, it should be a time to lift up our faith and our trust in God.

As human beings, this may be difficult especially if we are going through a particular challenge.

The ember months should indeed be the month that faith is taken to the highest level especially for those that want to receive uncommon miracles.

However, it is the time to subdue the desires of the flesh and focus on the spiritual.

We have often heard that the spiritual controls the physical.

In other words, it simply means that most of the things that we experience in the physical have spiritual origin.

Genesis 1 vs. 1-3 ( KJV) :  “ In the beginning God created the heaven and earth .

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face   of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light”.

With this is it clear that the spiritual gave ‘birth’ to the physical.

However, it is not all challenges that have spiritual origin.

If a person is found to be barren  because of  Sexually Transmitted Diseases

( STD) such a person cannot blame it on spiritual forces.

Though in some cases, the forces of darkness may use that as a weapon to deepen the  challenge  in one’s  person’s life.

If such a person admits his or her  shortcomings  and cries to God in prayer, such a person may  testify to a break through  with  the intervention of the Almighty God.

The first step for a person  in  this situation or a similar one is the have total faith or if you like trust in the ability of God to turn things around in his or her favour.

However, faith  alone isn’t enough to break a yoke.

James 2 vs. 17: “ Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead being alone”.

The victim of that challenge must also be determined to put an end to a challenge  with prayer and complete trust in God.

The Holy Bible tells us how to demonstrate our determination in Matthew 18 vs. 18 ( NIV):

It states, “ Truly  I tell  you, whatever  you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in  heaven”.

In practical terms what this means is that you must take steps to loose yourself from that challenge and heaven also would loose you.

Luke 13 vs.10-12  (KJV) :  presents us with a good example.

“ And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.

And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift  up herself.

And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou are loosed from thine infirmity’.

You want to ask what step did she take?   She was at the synagogue.

Imagine how difficult it was for her to move from her house to the synagogue. She must have struggled to get there.    She never knew it was the day her pains would end . Perhaps she heard testimonies  of what the LORD have been doing so, she went to hear the word and that very day, and Jesus released the word that set her free.

Beloved, as a Believer, you are in a better position than  the woman the Bible mentioned.

In her time,  preachers were few, miracles were uncommon.

Now,  you can help your faith by studying  the word of God, attending deliverance programmes and other forms of service to God.

In many cases, as you  communicate with God  in prayer, praise and worship,  a miracle  could manifest. .

Even when the forces of darkness are identified as the source of a challenge, oftentimes, they only see the manifestation of God’s power.  They never know when it happened.

For a Believer, the Holy Bible states in James 1 vs. 6&7: “ But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.  For he that wavereth  is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive  anything of the Lord”.

Anyone  who is prepared to receive  a miracle must also prepare for what he wants to receive  of the LORD.

A person that asks God to bless him financially and does not know what to do  with the money  is not ready for a miracle.

I’ll share the story of a lady.

She was  married but barren for years.  All her colleagues at work knew. Some mocked her, others  pitied her.

A time came when the company began to sell cars to staff on loan.  She hadn’t an official  car because her boss, denied her.

So when the opportunity to buy at hire purchase came.  She went for a car different from Saloon cars that many of her colleagues went for.

A mini SUV  that could carry six passengers.  Unknown to her colleagues, she made that choice  because, she planned to carry her children in that car.

She also  had a vision that one day, she would leave the salary job to be in business and such a car would be useful.

To the glory of God, it was not long after she bought the car that she conceived and later gave birth to  a baby boy.

When she returned to work after her maternity leave, it was that same car she used to carry the baby to her office.

Brethren,  her story is that of a person that not only prayed and served God, she prepared for the miracle.

How prepared are you for that miracle you are trusting the LORD for?

The Holy Bible  gave a piece of advise to a  woman waiting on the Lord for children  should  consider.

Isaiah 54 vs. 2&3: “ Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine  habitations; spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes:

For thou shall break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentile, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited”.

You must prepare for the miracle that you expect from God.

When you do, the hosts of Heaven sees what you have done and will  honour your faith.

The ember months are the months to lift up  our faith and trust in God.

A true Believer must be expectant.

Those that do not expect may get nothing except  the LORD shows  mercy.

Lift you up faith, act your faith and see God in action.

Glory be to God.
