Magistrate A Fofana of the Brusubi Magistrates Court yesterday remanded one Michael Sambou, accused of raping a two-year-old girl in Brusubi Phase II.
The accused pleaded not guilty to a single count of rape.
Prosecutors led by Inspector O Jaiteh, alleged that Sambou unlawfully had carnal knowledge of the girl earlier this month and asked the court for the matter to be transferred to the high court and remand the accused pending hearing of the case.
The court granted his application and remanded Sambou at the Mile 2 prison.
