JOS — Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has sworn in two new commissioners following their screening and confirmation by the Plateau State House of Assembly.

The commissioners are Bashir Lawandi Datti and Ephraim Usman Gar.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, was conducted on behalf of the governor by the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Chundung Piyo, who administered the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance to the appointees.

Congratulating the commissioners, Governor Mutfwang charged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, diligence and a strong commitment to public service.

He urged them to align their duties with the administration’s “Time Is Now” agenda, which focuses on sustainable development, accountable governance and inclusive growth.

The governor also stressed the need to strengthen governance institutions and improve service delivery in critical sectors, including water resources, energy development, local government administration and traditional institutions.

He further emphasised teamwork, transparency and a citizen-centred approach in implementing government policies aimed at improving the welfare of Plateau residents.

The newly sworn-in commissioners are returning members of the State Executive Council, having previously served in the cabinet before resigning to contest elections. They were subsequently reappointed after unsuccessful electoral bids.

In their separate remarks, Datti and Gar expressed gratitude to the governor for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to serve with loyalty, dedication and professionalism.

They assured residents of their commitment to effective service delivery and the advancement of the administration’s development agenda through their respective ministries.
