Nations League: Portugal hand Ronaldo’s no.7 shirt to Leao after camp exit

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Galatasaray winger, Raphael Leao, will take over Cristiano Ronaldo’s no.7 shirt for Portugal’s upcoming fixtures.

This was confirmed in the revised squad list ahead of their game against Denmark in Copenhagen on Thursday evening.

Ronaldo left the national team camp on Wednesday.

It came after days of speculation surrounding Ronaldo’s rift with head coach Jorge Jesus.

The 41-year-old took to social media, saying that in time he will reveal “the truth about the reasons that motivated me to leave.”

Portugal are currently top of Group 4 of the Nations League following wins over Wales and Norway in their first two games.
