NPFL: Sporting Lagos coach Buter fined N500,000 over referee comments

Daily Post about 4 hours 1 mins read

Sporting Lagos head coach, Jeffrey Buter, has been fined N500,000 by the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, DAILY POST reports.

Buter was sanctioned by the NPFL after admitting error in his post-match interview following his side’s derby draw with Ikorodu City.

The NPFL also took into account the gaffer’s limited experience in the league before arriving at the decision.

The young tactician was invited to Abuja by the NPFL on Wednesday to clarify his statement.

Buter has seven working days to pay the fine or face stiffer sanctions.

The NPFL further warned coaches and club officials to desist from reckless statements and to use official channels for complaints.
