Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved the nomination of Martin Anayochukwu Oli as a commissioner-designate in the state.

Oli is an accomplished businessman and respected Igbo community leader from Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.

His nomination was announced in a government special announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.

According to the statement, Mr Oli has distinguished himself through his contributions to community and grassroots development, entrepreneurship, and advocacy for sustainable growth within the Igbo community in Edo State.

The government noted that the appointment underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to inclusive governance, unity, and broad-based participation, while recognising individuals whose contributions have positively impacted the development of Edo State, irrespective of their state of origin.

Oli’s nomination will now be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

If confirmed, the appointment will further reinforce Governor Okpebholo’s message that commitment, competence, and service to Edo remain central to his administration’s approach to governance.
