Perfection is of the Lord, by Funmi Komolafe

Beloved, the month of July commonly called the month of perfection is progressing and many of us are looking up to God to perfect issues in our lives.

Other preachers call the month of July, the month of completeness.

The month in which whatever has been shaking in the last six months become stable.

It is perceived as the month that gives one rest from worrisome issues.

Whatever it is, no one wants to be permanently   held down with a challenge.

We all want relief.

The issue is, in what area do you need perfection?  For instance, a woman who has been having series of miscarriages needs perfection for her to be able to carry a baby to full term and deliver safely.

Let’s consider the case of a woman that needed perfection in the Bible and see how she got it.

Luke 8 vs. 43-48 (KJV): “ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any.

Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched”.

This woman was called names. Human efforts  failed her.   She had spent a lot of money but got no solution from her doctors.

As it is then, so it is now.

Couples experiencing fertility challenges are subjected to various types of tests at very high costs.    When they go through all of these and they still can have a child, they begin to lose faith in their ability to bear children.

Some of the test results present their cases as hopeless.   When a woman is told that her eggs are weak and cannot be fertilized   or a man is told that he has zero sperm count, such a person could get depressed.

They would begin to experience tension in their marriage due to pressure from society and their love life   may begin  to lose steam.

Beloved, none of these reactions would ever give them the desired result of becoming biological parents.

However, what man cannot make perfect, JESUS is more than able to make perfect. He is able to make one complete.

Pastor  Odeyemi of the R.C.C.G  once said “ to be complete  is to perfect something. To have all that is  necessary  for body, soul and spirit”.

Brethren, we are complete when we are in Christ and Christ is in us.

John 14 vs. 1: “ Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me”.

The words of our Lord Jesus remain relevant till  today.

If woman with the issue of blood had not believed that  contact with Jesus could make her perfect, his garment would mean nothing to her.

Therefore, the first condition for perfection or completeness is  faith.

You need to believe that there is an unlimited power that can make your life perfect.

Have you been spending  resources going from one medical procedure to another?   Nothing wrong with scientific checks but do not wait until your purse is drained before you turn to the great physician, Jesus.

Colossians 2 vs. 9&10: “ For in him dwelled all the fullness  of  the Godhead bodily.

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power”.

Jesus.

Colossians 2 vs. 15: ‘ And having spoiled principalities and powers, he  made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it”.

This is an assurance that whatever  is the challenge, with Jesus on your side, you would triumph.

Sometimes, for one to fill complete, that person might require, restoration.

A person on the sick bed would be made perfect when his or her health is restored.

A woman who has been married for years without being pregnant once, will see herself on the path of completeness once she handles a pregnancy positive test result.

However, there are  conditions  for  the Lord’s perfection in a person’s life.

The first is Faith.

Mark 9 vs. 23: “ Jesus saith unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth”.

The Bible made no record of anyone persuading the woman with the issue of blood to go to Jesus neither was she helped by anyone.

She must   had  her faith built up by the testimonies she heard.

Brethren,  you  need to pay attention to testimonies especially those that relate to the challenges you want out of your life.

Do not listen to testimonies for listening sake. Use the testimony you heard as a prayer point for your own miracle.

Someone’s testimony must have made the woman with the issue of blood believe that if she could touch his garment, she would be healed.

She believed and got a testimony.

Some Christians doubt testimonies.   A doubter hardly testifies  because what  she  does  not believe cannot manifest in her  life.

Another key to perfection is patience.

The woman we referred to her must have waited patiently for  the day  she would be  able to get close to Jesus.

Brethren, anyone that wants  to be made perfect  but  be patient.

Kind David said in Psalm 27 vs. 14: “ Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD”.

Why do we need to be patient?

It is simply because the LORD does things at his own time.

In most cases, the LORD shows up when you least expected.  God the controller of time is not bound  by time neither is any human being able to dictate the time he wants a miracle.

I will share the testimony of two sisters.  They both went to a church  because they wanted to get married since they were of marriageable age.

The elder led the younger to the church but the younger got married before the elder.   This didn’t  discourage the elder.  She continued  with her service to God until her date of marriage came.

Beloved, let’s continue to remember that we came to this world with nothing and would return with nothing including children.

What we need most is the peace  of the Lord.

This assurance the Lord gave us in Matthew 11 vs. 28: “ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.

The period of rest from challenges is the time of perfection.  It is the time of completeness.

Brethren, tell it to the Lord in prayer and expect perfection from the Lord.

Jesus is Lord!
