Police in Adamawa arrest two suspected gunrunners, seize Dane gun

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected gunrunners and seized a gun from them.

According to the command, the arrest was made on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, when operatives of the State Intelligence Department acted on intelligence and went after the suspects at Cham, a community in Gombe State.

The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who disclosed this on Thursday, said the suspects were caught red-handed while transacting in illegal firearms.

They were arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of and dealing in firearms.

Nguroje identified the suspects as Commander Barde, 54, of Zakawon Village, Guyuk Local Government Area, Adamawa State, and Abdullahi Musa, 51, of Ga’anda, Gombi Local Government Area, also in Adamawa State.

“One locally fabricated Dane gun was recovered from them as exhibit,” Nguroje said, adding that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had long been involved in illegal arms dealing, as they had confessed that it was not their first transaction.
