President Museveni Grants Official Burial to Gen. Moses Ali, Minister Babalanda Announces

KAMPALA— The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Gen. (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has granted an official burial to the fallen Member of Parliament for  Adjumani West County, Gen. (Rtd) Hon. Moses Ali, the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda has announced.

In a statement, the Minister described the late General as “a distinguished patriot, elder statesman, and former 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda.”

“Dear friends, I wish to inform you all that the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Gen. Rtd. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has granted an official burial to the fallen member of Parliament for Adjumani West County, a distinguished patriot, elder statesman, and former 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. (Rtd.) Hon. Moses Ali,” Minister Babalanda said.

She added that the National Organising Committee (N.O.C.) is already meeting with the family of the deceased to organise a befitting send-off.

Minister Babalanda extended heartfelt condolences to President Museveni, the bereaved family, the people of Adjumani, colleagues in government, and all Ugandans mourning the loss.
“May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, comfort his family and loved ones during this difficult time. _Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un_. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” she said.

Gen. (Rtd) Moses Ali served Uganda for decades in various capacities, including as a legislator, Minister, and 2nd Deputy Prime Minister. He was widely respected for his wisdom, patriotism, and commitment to national unity and development.

Details of the burial programme are expected to be communicated by the N.O.C. following consultations with the family.
