Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has issued a 72-hour ultimatum and a final notice to illegal occupants along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

The notice was issued after the monthly sanitation exercise carried out at the Ojuelegba, Surulere, and Kosofe areas of the state.

According to him, collective action is highly needed on the part of the government and the people to achieve a cleaner Lagos.

While ordering a massive demolition of illegal structures in the axis, Sanwo-Olu urged residents to play their role in keeping the metropolis clean.

According to him, an additional 150 compactor trucks have been procured to increase logistics and enhance waste collection across the state.

He noted that the state government is coming up with a robust landfill management plan to increase turnaround time for PSP operators.

The Governor also appealed to residents to pay their waste bills and stop the habit of indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

While announcing a 72-hour ultimatum to clear the Lagos-Badagry expressway corridor and all illegal structures off the road, he insisted that the state government will not permit unapproved operations along the highway.

“From next week, we are coming to clear the entire median. Everything there will go”, he added.
