Swear Nigerians begging for money not increased under Tinubu — Rufai Oseni to Onanuga

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Arise Television anchor, Rufai Oseni, has lashed out at Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo, Onanuga, over his comment that ‘he does not see the hunger Nigerians are going through’.

Speaking on Wednesday during Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’, Rufai challenged the presidential aide to swear that Nigerians that have begged him for money has not increased since the coming of Tinubu’s administration.

He described Onanuga’s views on the level of hardship facing Nigerians as ignorant.

Onanuga had, during a television interview, said he does not share the view that the level of hunger often described by critics reflects the reality across Nigeria.

According to the presidential spokesman, several government initiatives have delivered tangible benefits to citizens, citing infrastructure projects, student loans and credit facilities for workers as examples.

Reacting, Rufai said, “Bayo Onanuga should swear with the Bible that the number of Nigerians begging him for urgent N2,000 has not increased since Tinubu came to power.”

He accused Onanuga of being detached from the realities confronting ordinary Nigerians, insisting that the daily experiences of millions of citizens contradict claims that the level of suffering is being exaggerated.
