OK Movement backs Kwankwaso’s N10bn lawsuit against Primate Ayodele

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Ok Movement, a support group for Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has condemned a recent remark by the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele.

DAILY POST reports that Ayodele had while reacting to the selection of Kwankwaso as Obi’s running mate, alleged that the former governor “will eventually sell” Obi out.

Reacting, Kwankwaso through his lawyers, Magaji Mato Ibrahim, SAN & Co., gave the cleric 24 hours to retract the comments and publish an apology on both local and international media platforms or face a N10 billion suit.

Backing Kwankwaso’s stance, OK Movement in a statement posted on its official X handle on Wednesday, said the publication was aimed at damaging Kwankwaso’s reputation.

The group also demanded that Ayodele retract his comments and apologize to the NDC vice presidential candidate.

“The OK Movement demands a retraction and apology for the defamatory contents and comments against His Excellency Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

“Public statements must be rooted in facts and civility. Truth, accountability and  responsibility for public engagement remains essential to strengthening our nation, culture and civilization,” the group said.
